They were to hate their father, mother, etc. What does that mean? They would be pupil learners. The emphasis was on learning to act. Disciples of Christ were later called Christians at Antioch. Followers of Christ. Not followers of the O. T. Not followers of Judaism. Not followers of a Christ, that included an Israel. Not Judeo-Christians. Just Christians. Christ came and introduced the kingdom of heaven and of God. Not a kingdom of this earth. Paul made disciples. Disciples were to imitate Paul – never Peter. They were to take Paul as their example. He pleaded with them to be imitators of himself as he followed Christ. They, and we, to have the gospel as revealed to Paul directly from the Lord Jesus. Divine revelation for years as Paul learned from Christ alone, in the Spirit of God. #Christian #BibleStudy #IreneBonneyFaulkes #Truth #wordofgod #HolySpirit #Quotes
