‘I dreamed the Great Judgment morning Had dawned and the nations had gathered To judgment before the White Throne And oh what a weeping and wailing When the lost were told of their fate. They called to the rocks and the mountains, They prayed, but their prayers were too late’. So says an old song. It will happen one day. How and when? This is not a popular subject these days. Once it used to be a familiar topic in church evangelistic eetings. Not nwo = especially since the books of Rick Warren. Just please the epople in church. Then they wil ome. a user friendly kind of package. But is it the word of the gospel? Would it not be far better to preach the truth and warn men and women if perhaps some would hear, believe and be spared the fate of eternity in a terrible hell? There was Jonathan Edwards, preaching in USA years ago. His truthful gospel was so full of warnings about hell, that grown men would cling to the posts in the church, crying out in fear. Where is that kind of preaching today? Rather, it is, the non-gospel song, the dance, the jumping up and down rather like the Hasidic bobbing of heads and the ‘come and join this crowd, this community’.
